Today was Career Day, a day where people come to talk about their careers. It varies from a lawyer to a Special Agent, but today I will talk about the lawyer. We got to choose which one we wanted and I chose the lawyer. William Listman is a lawyer from Monroe. He came to Room 222 to talk about what he does, but it was a lot more fun than I would’ve thought. First, he started talking about what he did and what type of lawyer he is. He was the most interesting person at Parcells today. We did a mock trial where it was about a stolen bike between a victim and a defendant, but I was the jury. First it started by the victim telling her story of how the defendant stole the bike to the victim’s third grade teacher. The defendant claimed that the victim let him use the bike, but the victim said he stole it. Along the way the third grade teacher said the victim falsely accused people of taking his things, but they didn’t. There were 10 members of the Jury including me. 2 people found him guilty and 8 people found him not guilty.
